Mothers Day

Ideas for Mothers Day

Mother's Day started nearly 150 years ago in America, when Anna Jarvis, organized a day to raise awareness of poor health conditions in her community, a cause she believed would be best advocated by mothers. She called it "Mother's Work Day."

Mother's Day is a celebration honouring mothers and motherhood, maternal bonds, and the influence of mothers in society. It is celebrated on various days in many parts of the world, most commonly in March or May.

Mothers Day Date: Sunday 12 May 2013

It is a time for us men to put a good foot forward and really spoil our mothers, they deserve it especially as I can imagine so many of us men must have given them near heart failure with the stupid things we did and also for all the nonsense they have to put up with us for how ever many years we have been walking on this earth, thanks to our Moms.

And for us men to help our kids create a really fantastic day for their moms, I'm sure we can all sacrifice getting up earlier on Sunday and helping the kids to make breakfast so that mom can sleep in, or going out and buying presents with our children for mothers day, its quality time you get spend with them and you get the gift shopping done.

Some ideas and pointers for a great mothers day

  1. This is one day that watching sport or drinking with mates is out of the question. Unless you feel like being permanently based on dog box duty.
  2. Start buying the things you will need for mothers day a week before the time, going the day before will be a waste of time, because the shops will be busy, and more than likely the things you want to get will be sold out. besides our moms and wife's are well worth the extra effort, and time.
  3. Take her for breakfast or lunch if you are no Jamie Oliver in the kitchen.
  4. Flowers and chocolates are always a safe bet, so are beauty treatments, spa day vouchers.
  5. If you have been listening to your wife or mom hint about a few things they might like while being on one of those really long shopping excursions, and were able to write them down somewhere, then half your job has is done, and it will show that you are listening even when they think you are not.
  6. If you are feeling creative, make something with the kids it could be card, a picture frame, or even a wooden box for jewellery, but do it with the kids so that they can add their own distinctive touches to it.

Remember mothers day is about them, and everything they do for us, and our children, its a day for them to relax and be spoilt and really say thank you for all that they do, even though we should be saying thank you everyday.

It is not about how much money you spend but the extra effort that you put in that will really count.

Here are a few sites that could help with the decision making, and they deliver....so no excuses for those men whose moms are out of town.
